Education & Experience
Wendy is a relationship therapist who provides trauma resolution support, counseling, and therapy services for adult individuals and couples. She is a Verified EMDR Psychotherapist and Consultant, an IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback Certified Provider (ICP), a Certified Imago Relationships Therapist (CIRT), Certified in Immediate Stabilization Procedure (ISP® Certified), and a Certified ETT® Complex Trauma Therapist. Wendy is also a Certified Splankna Practitioner, a modality that supports the integration of body, mind, and spirit in healing from emotional trauma.
Wendy helps adults who have experienced adverse life events, childhood trauma, relationship loss, and other forms of loss move forward into healing and wholeness. This healing translates into more power and presence in personal pursuits and areas of influence, including: significant relationships, friendships, marriage, parenting & caregiving, leadership, work and career life, community involvement, and spirituality and faith expression.
Wendy’s professional background includes clinical skills serving in acute pediatric/adolescent inpatient hospital programs, intensive adult mental health and substance recovery, hospice and bereavement, community mental health, traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, crisis intervention, and outpatient counseling and therapy services. She has served in the mental health field for over 25 years.
Prior to founding Hope’s Lantern, Wendy was honored to serve as Senior Staff Therapist for Dr. David Tharp at Stonebriar Psychiatric Services, a Christian psychiatric practice. She served at Stonebriar for over 12 years.
While able to provide Christian counseling and therapy for individuals and couples who desire and request to integrate their Christian faith into their healing process, she respects the unique personhood of each individual and serves individuals of various belief systems.
Wendy also volunteers and serves in settings of human overwhelm and suffering. This includes helping first responders, military, veterans, the bereaved, the relationally hurting, the traumatized, hurting communities, and those walking through cancer. She co-founded and served as a board director for Valored, a non-profit created for first responders, veterans, and military personnel. Wendy serves in capacities to expand education and access to people and organizations that help bring real solutions of immediate stabilization following adverse events, healing, restoration, and resiliency.
Wendy is deeply grateful to work and serve alongside passionate others in the groundbreaking frontline work of helping people shift out of trauma and loss into lives that are present and intentional, and free to fulfill their unique purpose.
